Imagine that you have just downloaded a large audio book from the Internet and you would like to split it into individual chapters. Or you want to create a ringtone from a large audio file. Normally, these tasks are not possible when using the Windows operating system alone. But when installing the CD Wave Editor application, splitting audio files becomes possible.

CD Wave Editor is basically a Windows program which allows you to split any audio file into an unlimited number of parts, but can also record the sound coming from various sources. After the program has been installed, the user only needs to import the desired audio file into the application's interface. Unfortunately, CD Wave Editor lacks support for MP3 audio files, supporting only WAV, FLAC and APE. After loading the desired song into the program's interface, one will just need to select the part that should be split, by placing the cursor on it.

After doing so, one will just need to click on the Split button in order for CD Wave Editor to do its thing. Besides splitting audio files, CD Wave Editor can also rip audio CDs and turn its tracks into digital audio files, which can then be imported into the program's interface for splitting. This feature is ideal for one-track audio CDs, which include audio mixes and other related materials.

What's more, CD Wave Editor can also record the sound coming from various sources, like the line-in or microphone. The user can customize the quality of the audio file and can also set the path for saving it.

Pros

It allows you to split any audio file into several smaller parts using a single mouse click. Besides that, it allows you to rip any audio CD and turn its tracks into digital audio files. Furthermore, it can record the sound coming from various sources.

Cons

There is no support for the MP3 format. CD Wave Editor is a simple yet efficient solution for splitting any audio file into several smaller parts by a push of a button.
